Welcome to Sacred Heart Catholic School.
Sacred Heart is a Catholic co-educational school situated on a magnificent ten-acre property on the outskirts of Geeveston. The School offers Kindergarten to Grade 6 education. We welcome our early learners through our Birth to Five program, Little Hearts. We have provided a quality, child-centred education for students in the Huon Valley Region for over 80 years. Today, a dedicated and professional staff carry on the spirit, values and traditions of our founders, the Sisters of St Joseph.
Sacred Heart Catholic School continues to respond to, and serve, the needs of families who seek a Catholic education in the Huon Valley. We aim to create an atmosphere in which both students and staff can grow and develop as a Catholic Community, loved by God. The School aims to extend this sense of belonging within the wider-community of home, school and parish. The Sisters of St Joseph were recognised for their simplicity, hospitality, compassion and respect for every person. These wonderful qualities are still very much alive in our school today.
We provide a learning environment which is stimulating, positive and purposeful, one that caters for the social, physical, emotional, academic and spiritual needs of the students in our care. Our dynamic curriculum is designed to cater for all, and each day includes clear and structured learning times. We provide a range of exciting learning opportunities including specialist subjects in Physical Education, Music, Drama and Art as well as opportunities for excursions, camps, swimming programs, dance, and student leadership. Our School has an excellent Aboriginal cultural program and our bushland property provides many opportunities for sustainability programs and learning through play experiences.
Well-being is a strong focus and programs to support the development of resilience, self-esteem, and happiness are embedded throughout our School. We promote good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle through our Move Well Eat Well program. Safe, positive and respectful behaviour is a strong focus throughout our School.
We very much value partnerships with parents and guardians that support and nurture the education our students, encouraging them to flourish at our School. Please feel free to explore our website and contact the School for further information or to arrange a tour so you can experience our welcoming and engaging environment first hand.
